Blades AVS recently completed a comprehensive audio overhaul for Greencastle Athletics, designing and installing professional-grade sound systems across three distinct athletic environments, tailored to the unique demands of the space and the budget of the district.

• Weight room: JBL Control 28 speakers provide clean, evenly distributed audio throughout the space, paired with a Shure SLXD124 combo wireless microphone system featuring both a handheld and lapel mic for hands-free coaching flexibility. A Denon Bluetooth receiver rounds out the setup, allowing staff to stream music wirelessly from any mobile device with ease.

• Main gymnasium: Four stacks of JBL CBT1000 column array speakers with CBT1000E low end extenders form a powerful center speaker cluster, supported by two JBL ASB6125 subwoofers for deep, full-range sound coverage across the floor. Six Crown amplifiers—four CDi6000s and two XTi4002s—power the entire system, while the district’s existing microphones, mixer, and BSS signal processor were integrated into the new setup, maximizing the value of equipment already in place.

• Baseball and softball fields: Blades AVS repurposed the main gymnasium’s existing speakers as an audio solution for the outdoor fields, a practical, cost-conscious approach that delivered a meaningful upgrade without requiring a full new system.

The result is a cohesive, well-engineered audio environment across Greencastle’s athletic facilities that gives coaches, staff, and students the sound quality and flexibility they need.
